Order Tadalafil

Order tadalafil, Ater eight years since their last adventure, it was easy to assume that Joe R. Lansdale had given up on Hap Collins and Leonard Pine. But the two good ol' East Texas boys are back in all their scruffy glory in VANILLA RIDE, order tadalafil.

So was it worth the layover. Order tadalafil, Oh, yeah.

Hap and his long-time girlfriend, Brett, are enjoying a quiet morning when Leonard — Hap’s closest friend in the world, who happens to be black and gay — shows up. Along with Leonard is Marvin Hansom, their mutual buddy and a retired local cop, order tadalafil.

Marvin needs Hap and Leonard’s help. Order tadalafil, Seems Marvin’s granddaughter got herself mixed up with an abusive drug dealer for a boyfriend. And Marvin wants Hap and Leonard to bring the girl back home, even if it means some ass-whupping.

And, of course, it does, order tadalafil. But what Hap and Leonard soon discover is that the dealer is mixed up with the Dixie Mafia. Order tadalafil, And even though he’s a bottom-rung dealer, the Dixie Mafia isn’t about to let Hap and Leonard skate on this, especially after they flushed several thousand dollars worth of drugs down the toilet.

The mob’s retribution is swift and bullet-laden. Hap and Leonard survive, but end up in jail, charged with the mess they left behind. But then the feds step in and offer up a deal: If Hap and Leonard agree to make another run at the mob, the charges will magically disappear.

But the Dixie Mafia is still hell-bent on killing our boys, and they hire outside help for the job. Eventually, the pair is up against a legendary and lethal contract assassin known as Vanilla Ride.

As any devoted fan will tell you, half the fun of any Hap and Leonard story is getting there, courtesy of Hap’s first-person narration. And the intervening years have not dulled the bawdy, sassy observations, nor the twangy dialogue that Lansdale miraculously keeps authentic without becoming a parody.

The plot’s urgency allows a little less of the social commentary that often enriches these riotous stories. But Lansdale still manages to make some stinging points about law enforcement, loyalty and the thin, ambiguous moral code that separates the likes of Hap and Leonard from professional criminals.

If there’s a complaint at all, it’s that Vanilla Ride appears so late in the novel. This character, as Hap later reflects, must have a sad, fascinating history. And it would have been fun to see the duo tangle with this skilled but utterly ruthless killer a little longer. But what there is takes some unexpected turns, and is left open-ended.

Will we see Vanilla Ride again. More importantly, will we see more of Hap and Leonard, now that they’ve been pulled out and dusted off. Let’s hope so. In the meantime, there’s a spiffy new collection of classic Lansdale short fiction (SANCTIFIED AND CHICKEN-FRIED) and a handsome reissuing of previous Hap and Leonard novels (four down, two more to go) to keep us busy and happy until the next new work from this living treasure. —Alan Cranis

This series sounds great. I like to work my way up through series I haven’t read yet (like I’m doing with David Wellington’s vampire series I read about on this site). Do you have a suggested order?

Julia,
I envy you discovering the series for the first time. Might as well follow the order as they were first published: SAVAGE SEASON, MUCHO MOJO, THE TWO-BEAR MAMBO, and BAD CHILI. These have already been reissued (and reviewed here). The other two — RUMBLE TUMBLE and CAPTAINS OUTRAGEOUS — are forthcoming. But you can go ahead and enjoy VANILLA RIDE while you wait, if you feel like it. Enjoy!
