I beleive the story you remember is “Mystery Under the Sea,” and the serpents were actually Moray Eels.

I once read a Doc Savage story in which Doc was in a room filled with aquariums containing deadly serpents. The glass broke, leaving Doc in a “wading pool” of serpents. I want to remember the name of this story, but can’t. Of the 190 published Doc stories, there are only 63 it could be. 28 of those, by Bantam #’s, are above #82, making them very unlikely. I’ve got a complete list I can supply, if it will help. Even if somone can’t supply the answer I need, perhaps they can help me shorten the list. I can tell you right now, by heart, that 2 of the books you list are definitely amongst the 63: Spook Legion & Fortress of Solitude. Even if you can help me eliminate just those, it will be a help. (Czar of Fear is probably on the list too; Devil Genghis, less likely. But I’d have to check my Bantam #’s against the titles.
