I finished Cryptozoica a week or so ago with tears in my eyes because I didn't want it to be over--it's that good!

I've been fan of Mark Ellis's Outlanders series for over ten years and I have to say Cryptozoica is better than the best of that classic series....and that's saying something.

Bai Suzhen is probably Mark's best female character and again--that's really saying something!

The artwork by Jeff Slemons is breath-taking.

Cryptozoica is classic Ellis and I hope and pray for a sequel.

I just finished Cryptozoica this weekend.
I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of pulp fiction, but I thoroughly enjoyed Cryptozoica. The plot was interesting, had depth, and moved well, progressing into an adrenaline rushing conclusion. I used to be a fan of Clive Cussler and his protagonist, Dirk Pitt. His characters have lately become predictable, sparse, and plots more wooden. In contrast, Mark Ellis's Cryptozoica fulfilled my need for action adventure with interesting characters, each of which could support a story of their own. I'm looking forward to sequels which should be inevitable given the depth of the characters and the tensions between them. Lots of fun for all!
