That TRANSFORMERS movie sucked. You know it, I know it, and indie-comics artist Jeffrey Brown knows it.
However, his INCREDIBLE CHANGE-BOTS graphic novel – part-tribute, but mostly parody – is awesome. I know it, and you should know it.
The Incredible Change-Bots live on a planet called Electronocybercircuitron, and are separated into two factions: the good-guy Awesomebots and the bad-guy Fantasticons. They have a war. They accidentally crash-land on Earth. They have a war here. Hilarity ensues.
A semi named Big Rig leads the Awesomebots, which also includes garbage truck Stinky, pickup truck Honkytonk, fire truck Hoser, ambulance Ivy and golf cart Balls, among others. On the opposite side, the devious Shootertron rules the Fantasticons, whose members include bicycle Wheeeee, tank Tredz, and a spying microwave named Microwave (who conceals two mini Fantasticons, Soupy and Popper).
Yeah, none of this is to be taken seriously. With hilarious lines and throwaway gags, its absurdist humor is driven home by Brown’s primitive (that’s not a slam) drawings, vibrantly colored with markers. Usually, Brown’s comics are autobiographical and deal with impossible relationships and mysteries of life; it’s a treat to see him let loose and play in a pure fantasy world. And the crushed candy-bar bits up top is that it’s funny as hell.
Even though the general public wouldn’t get the joke, I’m dying for an Incredible Change-Bots T-shirt. –Rod Lott

Your telling me a Michael Bay film sucks I’m shocked. I was sure that would have been nominated for Best Picture instead of No Country For Old Men.
I thought the first half of the Transformers movie was good. It fell apart after that.
