“Mayhem in Manhattan”… I remember it well. I read it in high school, and it was the first novel I ever read that wasn’t a “major project” to get through. In other words, as opposed to my usual month-to-read-a-book schedule, I read this one in two days. Several of the others in this series were fun, too. Thanks for the memories!

Those covers are beautiful. I remember some of these books being offered at a Bookmobile-type thing when I was in grade school, because they looked like *actual* books, as opposed to comics!

I still have several of those, I think Doomsday and the Dr. Strange were the best. I’ve been looking for Doomsday, in a low-key way, for the last thirty years. Thanks for giving me the actual title.

At the time Marvel Novel series was coming out, I gave them to a couple of children I knew who weren’t reading books but were collecting comics. They hated to read prose.

The books formed a bridge between comic books and novels and shortly thereafter, they became inveterate readers of books.

Sadly, I missed them all at the time, and often thought about looking for them on the Internet. The covers alone would have caught my eye, so it’s doubtful I ever saw these books in North Dakota.

I remember those books. I read the FANTASTIC FOUR and DR. STRANGE volumes.
