		<description>My rule doesn't mean you can't give up further into the book. You're not committed to it once you pass 100. You've just got to give the book at least much of a shot before you can say "life's too short" and move on to the next one.</description>

		<description>With certain authors, the 100 page rule can't apply.  I remember reading Tommyknockers, which had a decent first 100, but then it went off into laborious side track for 500 pages before wrapping the book up.  I definitely should have given up after 150, but the first 100 had given me hope.</description>
