GRAPHIC CLASSICS to issue new ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE edition

graphic classics reviewOne of the earliest editions of GRAPHIC CLASSICS, which adapts classic literature into comic-book format, was devoted to the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, best known as the creator of Sherlock Holmes. That 2002 book has been out of print for a while, but those new to the series (or its fervid collectors) can get their fix with November’s release of GRAPHIC CLASSICS: ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE – SECOND EDITION.

With 100 new pages from the previous edition, DOYLE features adaptations of two Holmes stories (”The Adventure of the Engineer’s Thumb” and “The Adventure of the Copper Beeches”), a Brigadier Gerard adventure (”The Castle of Gloom”) and the pirate tale “Captain Sharkey,” plus four other tales of ghosts and mysteries, all brought to life through the art of such talents as Rick Geary, Simon Gane, Roger Langridge, J.B. Bonivert, Milton Knight, Richard Sala and others.

After the jump, we’ve got four preview pages to tie you over. After you check them out, you’ll want to preorder it here.

[...] Around Feb. 15, GRAPHIC CLASSICS will unveil its 13th volume of classics-to-comics adaptations, GRAPHIC CLASSICS: RAFAEL SABATINI. Although arguably not as well-known as the series’ past spotlighted authors – ranging from Arthur Conan Doyle to Edgar Allan Poe – Sabatini was quite a popular adventure writer in his time, turning out such works as THE SEA HAWK, SCARAMOUCHE and his crowning achievement, the swashbuckling pirate novel CAPTAIN BLOOD.
