Given the success of Mark Winegardner’s THE GODFATHER RETURNS, I guess it was inevitable he’d be hired to write another sequel. And he has. Therefore, the rather schlocky sounding THE GODFATHER’S REVENGE will hit stores sometime in 2006. AP reports the assassination of President John F. Kennedy will be worked in to the plot of the new book.
Winegardner was plucked out of obscurity when he won a contest to pen the 2004 bestseller, which was approved and authorized by the estate of GODFATHER creator Mario Puzo. THE GODFATHER RETURNS has just been released in paperback.

I am actually reading RETURNS right now and it’s really good. I expected it to suck, but i had to pick it up in paperback because it’s THE GODFATHER. I’m really amazed at how good a job he’s done with it so far.
