Goth-Icky: A Macabre Menagerie of Morbid Monstrosities
Wow, guys, that was quick! The masterminds behind the simply adorable and highly subversive HAPPY KITTY BUNNY PONY are back, this time working from the completely opposite end of the spectrum.
GOTH-ICKY is devoted to all things dark and evil, but with a kitschy twist, of course. Comic art, paintings, masks and advertisements – all with a demonic slant featuring monsters, zombies, demons, vampires and all other creepy-crawlies – are given the spotlight, enhanced by the always sharp pen of MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000’s Michael J. Nelson, once again providing hilarious commentary throughout the proceedings.
For example, under a pic of a drop of blood, Nelson writes regarding Bela Lugosi’s line in DRACULA about never drinking wine: “This was not true not only of the legendary Dracula but of Lugosi himself. However, he never turned down the opportunity to enjoy a nice big mug of heroin.” Or, in relation to Frankenstein’s clothing: “When Frankenstein created his creature, he could have spent the extra four dollars to get him a real used belt at a secondhand store. And was it necessary to suit him up with a shredded pair of pants?”
Once again, Nelson’s participation makes GOTH-ICKY a beautifully ironic addition to your coffee table.
