Technically, THE VAMPIRE TAROT is a package rather than a book, yet it’s being published by St. Martin’s Press, so we’ll let it slide. Apparently, this Robert M. Place fellow credited with its creation is quite the big deal in the tarot-deck world, but we’ll just have to take their word for it.
I don’t believe in all that mumbo jumbo, but at least this big box can be appreciated for its artistic merits, with 78 bold, beautifully designed cards that pay homage to the classic vampire — i.e. Bram Stoker’s DRACULA — and all his friends, enemies and conquests.
Don’t know what the hell to do with tarot cards? Join the club … and consult the book inside the box if you’re so inclined. I’m not, but still, at least the eye walks away pleased, no matter what your fate. —Rod Lott

Ah, but did you slowly place them, one by one, on a table at midnight … outdoors, vulnerable, with a single large candle at the center of the table or perhaps beneath a full moon ? Don’t drink too much and keep your crucifix handy.
