You are correct, Erik, but I guess it’s a good sign I didn’t think of either of the novels in Sigler’s series while reading HATER. They’re written very differently.

Another “”unknown” agent causes people to go wildly violent” story ala Scott Sigler’s Infected – I wonder how this stacks up to that one. Thoughts? Hater sounds good…and I do like me some unexplained violence fiction (I’d reference The Straw Men by Michael Marshall (Smith) as a related book).

It’s not a massive cliffhanger. It’s a brave ending that makes you think, “Cool way to end it.” Then you turn the page and see the ad for the second book, and that makes you think, “Oh, bummer.”

Does it have a massive cliffhanger? Like sitting in the middle of traffic trying to get home, but ya gotta wait type? I hate those. I already purchse this book hoping it would be something like Blood Crazy by Simon Clark. I love 28 Days type of novels.

The prospect of a cheater ending puts me off a bit, but otherwise this sounds interesting…
