haunted reviewAmong all the books being released today, we’ll have to single out Chuck Palahniuk’s paperback debut of HAUNTED as particularly notable. A loose collection of sicko stories disguised as a novel, the book contains a dastardly encounter with a swimming pool vacuum that we understand is a real lithmus test. And the cover glows in the dark!

And far less stomach-churning:
• Stuart Woods’ DARK HARBOR, the 12th book for his Stone Barrington investigative character.
FLIGHT OF THE NIGHTHAWKS: BOOK ONE OF THE DARKWAR SAGA kicks off Raymond E. Feist’s new fantasy trilogy.
