OMG, this book has a lot to live up to after your review! I'm excited to get it tomorrow. I love film-industry biographies because I can't imagine how these creative people got to where they are. I know they are so talented but I like to see what led up to it all. I also respect real journalists like the ones at Time. I trust they'll do a better job than some of the other ones who write about celebs. I think I'll wait to see the movie until after I read the book. Get in the mind of the auteur, ya know?

From an article I just read in ROLLING STONE, it seems Keegan left out one important aspect of Cameron's life: being the victim of heavy bullying throughout school. Going from being bullied to one accused of bullying is an interesting dichotomy. Apparently, his 25th high school reunion fell write after TITANIC swept the Oscars, and Cameron went up to each of his past enemies and told them he'd like to kick their ass — and could — but wouldn't. I would've loved to see those conversations!

Sounds great. Thanks for the review. I can't wait to read it! If Cameron is anything, it's complex and interesting. If he wasn't I guess we wouldn't care.

Me, too! Including those on movies I don't like. This one's no DEVIL'S CANDY, but it's quite good.

Thanks for the review Rod. I'm somewhere in the middle when it comes to Cameron, but even when I don't like the flick I admire what went into making it. I probably wouldn't have been in a hurry to read this but your thoughts immediately bump it up my must-read list. I love the behind-the-scenes tales of making movies.
