Here's the story: In THE BRADY BUNCH: SUPER GROOVY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!, Mike Pingel has assembled an unauthorized guide to arguably the greatest family sitcom ever to grace the TV airwaves. There are probably BRADY books out there that are more complete and better written, but likely not quite as passionate.
If you're as obsessive a fan as Pingel appears to be, then SUPER GROOVY is for you. The bulk of it is comprised of a swift episode guide that's thankfully short on summary and long on trivia tidbit-ery. Before that comes a few interviews with BRADY creator Sherwood Schwartz and stars Ann B. Davis, Susan Olsen and Cousin Oliver himself, Robbie Rist. You also get Geri Reischl, the fake Jan of THE BRADY BUNCH VARIETY HOUR, a couple of no-name actors from various BRADY spin-offs and even someone who runs a website dedicated to all things BRADY.
Although you may have heard it before, it's still interesting to hear of Robert Reed's legendary, humorless, pain-in-the-ass persona behind the scenes, or how Tiger the dog was fatally run over. The pages are rounded out with original photos (some featuring Pingel) Wikipedia-esque lists on various merchandising efforts. —Rod Lott
