R.I.P. Thomas M. Disch

by Rod Lott on July 7, 2008 · 1 comment

New Wave sci-fi author Thomas M. Disch committed suicide in his New York City apartment over the July 4 weekend. He was 68. Some of his notable novels include CAMP CONCENTRATION, ON WINGS OF SONG and 334, but even those who have never read a word of his may be familiar with one of his creations: THE BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER, which became an underrated animated film from Disney. His most recent book is the just-out THE WORD OF GOD.
