BROTHER, CAN YOU SPARE $750?
Around Thanksgiving, Hard Case Crime will release its 50th title, publisher Charles Ardai’s FIFTY-TO-ONE. The novel will celebrate the entire Hard Case catalogue via full-color endsheets depicting all 49 covers. But the bigger news is that in December, a deluxe edition will be issued in only 50 copies, custom-bound in leather, housed in a handmade traycase and signed by such authors as Stephen King, Lawrence Block, Donald Westlake, Max Allan Collins, John Lange (aka Michael Crichton) and about a dozen others — all for just $750.

AS IN, US
The Online Education Database has compiled its listed of “100 Places to Connect with Other Bibliophiles Online.” We think they forgot one.

PRIME TIME
For a limited time, Amazon is offering a free trial of Amazon Prime, which gives buyers unlimited free, two-day shipping on millions of items. The free trial gives you a no-obligation period of one month, and no minimum purchase is required.

TRAILER PARK
Two new book trailers we think are worthy of your viewing. First up is for Mario Acevedo’s series of novels starring Felix Gomez, vampire detective — the most recent of which is THE UNDEAD KAMA SUTRA. This one — created by Acevedo and his son — is a stop-motion animated adventure of Gomez vs. skeletons … all in Legos. Just thinking about the time it must have taken makes my head hurt.

Second is for Ryan Mecum’s ZOMBIE HAIKU, in which a couple of the undead recite the five-seven-five syllable-structured poetry (sample: “Everything I thought / Tasted a lot like chicken / Really tastes like man”) with jazz accompaniment!
