NIGHT SHADE MAKES 'ELECTRIC' COMPANY
Biannual sci-fi/fantasy magazine ELECTRIC VELOCIPEDE has joined forces with indie publisher Night Shade Books. To celebrate, new subscribers can pick any two in-print Night Shade titles of their choice free! Past issues have included stories from Jeffrey Ford, Jeff VanderMeer, Alex Irvine, Liz Williams, Hal Duncan and others. You have until Jan. 8, 2009 to take advantage of this one.
PENGUIN WADDLES FORWARD
Penguin Group USA has launched Penguin 2.0, described as "a new suite of digital services, developed to offer readers new and innovative ways to interact with Penguin content." This includes two programs: Penguin Personalized, which allows you to include personal dedications into certain titles, and Penguin Mobile, a free iPhone app that gives users blog access, a podcast and exclusive excerpts, among other features.
