Neil Gaiman, Robin Williams and Ron Moore are among those who pay tribute to legendary sci-fi scribe Harlan Ellison in Erik Nelson’s documentary HARLAN ELLISON: DREAMS WITH SHARP TEETH. But its real star is Ellison himself, “the dark prince of American letters.” The film features more than “25 years of exclusive video footage that captures Ellison at his most irritating and inspiring, curmudgeonly and lovable. See Ellison rant about the idiocies of fandom, confess to mailing a dead gopher to a publishing house, recall his tortuous childhood, and speak about the joy (and misery) of writing.” We have two copies to give away, in the form of iTunes digital downloads.
To enter:
1. E-mail us your name and e-mail address (U.S. residents only; e-mail must link to existing iTunes account) with “Do not piss off Harlan Ellison” as the subject line, to editor at bookgasm dot com.
2. Await Friday, July 17 when we announce the randomly chosen winners.
3. Or, just buy it at iTunes or Amazon.

How completely cool. Just a few weeks ago I was trolling around on Tivo and this title caught my eye. The listing was just the title; it had absolutely no program information or tags, but I thought with a name like that on IFC, it might be interesting. I was right.
Even though I’m a voracious reader, I didn’t know much about Harlan Ellison but I – and my husband – still found this program fascinating. Even our 16 year old daughter sat glued to it.
Great giveaway, Bookgasm!
