Something we’ve been noticing ever since we started BOOKGASM: Writers sure do use the phrase “solar plexus” a lot. There are tons of places on the human body where it hurts to be hit, but “solar plexus” seems to be the fave.

Not sure why it’s so popular to use.
… maybe because it sounds painful? “Not in the solar plexus, dude. Oh God, not there!” Or because it’s a bit of Latin most folks have heard of. One more way to say dude or dudette took a shot to the gut. It also does hurt to take a hit there. Kind of radiates throughout the torso. A lesser cousin to one to the nads, while the striker maintains dignity.
